Thanks Nur. One of your (many) gifts, despite that you seem to love pictures of gorillas 🙂 you are such a human! I read your stuff and I so often feel..."this guy is so like the guy I see in the morning mirror". There is a love to that. You are a bloody legend would be my other response.🙏🏼
Thank you my friend 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 I really appreciate the reminders that what I’m posting remains authentic, despite the disdain for gorilla pictures 😂, and not posting for the sake of posting.
Any chance of attending one of your meetings, to get a better idea of what you're talking about? If you read a few of my Substack essays, you can get an idea about where I'm coming from. Here's one that seems relevant. Please read it carefully, so that you don't assume anything about my own struggles around the question. https://jstuckey.substack.com/p/on-identity-politics-20 And here's another one that is more general in nature. https://jstuckey.substack.com/p/on-our-primal-instinct-for-connection So lemme know if it would work to attend a meeting. Thanks.
Thanks. Unfortunately, at 75, I don't think I'm up to the task of being a leader of a group, but I enjoy being a member. I participate in monthly meetings with a group centered around the ideas of Daniel Quinn. I highly recommend him, especially his novel, 'Ishmael,' a gorilla who communicated telepathically with a man who goes on to be a proselytizer of Ishmael's ideas. Anyway, I hope you and/or your group take a look at some of my other essays, which are focused on the necessity of us returning to our ancient (pre-Civilization) understandings and modes of living, since 'soon' industrial civilization will collapse, when the resources on which it depends become sufficiently depleted. Believe it or not, using that lens helps make sense of the various forms of trauma we have suffered and continue to suffer, in hierarchical, patriarchal societies that have almost destroyed the primal instincts which allowed us to succeed as a species for thousands of generations. Anyway, I wish you and your group all the best. Peace.

What's not to love about Gorillas! I LOVE the pictures.😜
Haha, loved this, who doesn’t need more bros in their life?
I particularly enjoyed your “ultimate goal being to help each other become better men through genuine, vulnerable conversation.” 🙌😄
Thanks Eleni! Can’t go wrong with more bros, that’s for sure 🤣

Gotcha! Unfortunately, we closed off our meetings. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have, though.

King Arthur and the knights of the (digital) round table
We ride at dawn!!
I'm planning to do something similar soon, though probably more loose to start with. Well done!
That’s awesome! Keep me in the loop I’d love to follow your journey
Will do 😊
I am proud of you as a fellow human for doing this! Brave and vulnerable and much needed ❤️
Thanks Annie! Really appreciate you saying that
Actually, here's the essay I should have sent to you.

Thank you, JT! That means a lot. There’s already enough of that nonsense out there and none of it would be conducive to our growth.
Who needs more nonsense?
